Why Recycle?
Recycling is process of reusing or reconditioning materials or products so they can be used to make new products. Recycling helps conserve natural resources and lowers the impact of producing goods and services using new materials.
In 1988, the Illinois General Assembly passed the Solid Waste Planning and Recycling Act to reduce reliance on landfills for waste disposal and assign counties the responsibility for conserving landfill space.
